2020 is a year of challenge for food service and hotel companies, and for exhibition organisers, too. The international industry trade show for hotels, food service, bakeries and pastry shops, Internorga, could not take place but the Top hotel Star Award was still conferred. The award went to the hygiene experts at Meiko once again this year. With Meiko Ergonomics, it was not a machine receiving an award, but a service. This approach is especially appropriate while the crisis is causing many commercial kitchens to operate at lower staffing levels. Working with a leading scientist in the field of aptitude-diagnostic management issues, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.) identified Germany's most sought-after employers. The 5,000 largest companies based in Germany were analysed by means of an elaborate online survey. The hygiene expert Meiko from Baden-Württemberg ranks seventh in the industry.
Meiko won the coveted 'Catering Star' industry award again. For the second time, the expert readers of the trade magazine ´Catering inside´ have honoured the M-iClean H hood type dishwashing machine, this time the XL version. With this machine, Meiko has placed the focus on the subject of ´ergonomics in the workplace´ and contributed to the inclusion of severely disabled people within the food service industry.
With Dr. Eric Weiss at the head, Meiko Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG has restructured its business structures for Southern Europe. The new subsidiary Meiko Ibérica in Barcelona is part of the restructuring. Its opening was celebrated at an opening event with 50 Spanish partners.
